Recipients of Coleman Adult Day Service and those who benefit from the program are older adults with mild to severe disabilities or cognitive impairment. The majority of whom need assistance or are unable to perform self-care in the areas of toileting, transferring, eating and bathing. Participants include those with a single or multiple medical conditions, mental retardation, developmental disabilities, dementia and Alzheimer Disease.

Coleman Adult Day also serves working caregivers, elderly caregivers, and caregivers in poor health by allowing them to take care of personal work or other family and household demands.

We have trained staff with the ability to manage:

  • Alzheimer Disease
  • Multi-infarct dementia
  • Mental health behavior issues
  • Mental retardation or developmental disabilities
  • Need assistance ambulating
  • Non-ambulatory
  • Stroke
  • Heart Disease
  • Need assistance with eating
  • Incontinence
  • Need cuing (toileting program) or close monitoring in the rest room
  • Insulin dependent diabetics
  • Special dietary needs including puree and thicken liquids
  • Need for social interaction
